| If I understood you correctly, even though PAP2 supports multiple VoSP, the CoDec is on each VoSP setup is dependant, i.e. if Line #1 uses G729 CoDec, then Line #2 has to use G729 CoDec too? This really doesn't make sense. Well, I don't have PAP2 to test it, yet. |

Mazilo,
\
That is NOT TRUE!> Although on the PAP2 you can selectyy the "preferred CODEC" it does not mean it is the only CODED it will use. You can NOT elect to NOT use g711. It is the only codec you can not turn off! Why? Because if you select g729 on both ports one and 2 and while on a g729 call on line 1, line2 rings, it WILL be g711 o0n line 2 when answered, unlesas line 1 is hung up completely beforee answeriong line 2.
I have spent hours on the phpone with Linksys Tech Support. They have confirmed this is NORMAL, as the PAP2 can not handle the compression. |

| So, PAP2 has to have one line with G711 CoDec. That also does not make sense mainly because not all VoSPs default to use G711. Some still uses G723.1 while others prefer G729. Again, I have no PAP2 to test, so I don't have the answer. |

| dont shoot me, I am only the messenger! I have confirmed it with Linksys as I said! Call them Liars then! Now you see why some providers will not activate a second port. Most Good providers use g.729, and g.711 so it is not a problem. |
